Delivery and Returns

We are a family-run business that packs and despatches UK, European and Worldwide orders daily.

General Advice and Standard Delivery Service

We make a nominal charge for packaging materials (bags, tissue, labels, bubble wrap etc); it is not our intention to ‘profit’ from postage and packaging. If you have any questions or would prefer to use a different method of despatch, please use the Contact Us form. As standard, deliveries throughout the world will be sent Royal Mail or Correus Standard service . On the whole, international deliveries tend to take 3-5 days from date of despatch.

Delivery Costs

Your order will be sent by Royal Mail or Correus Standard Delivery. Postage costs are as follows:

  • United Kingdom (delivery time 3-5 working days) | 1-4 items: £2.50 | 5 or more items: £5.00
  • Europe (delivery time 3-5 working days) | 1-4 items: £3.50 | 5 or more items: £7.00
  • Rest of the World (delivery time 10 working days) | 1-4 items: £5.00 | 5 or more items: £10.00

*The delivery charges above only apply when dispatched together and to the same address.

Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases. Please let us know if you are not entirely satisfied with our products or our service so that we can rectify this.

Items are photographed and described as accurately as possible, but sometimes colours and designs may vary. If you are not completely satisfied with any item you have ordered, simply return it, in the original packaging if possible (remember to include your name, address and order number) within 14 days of the date of receipt and we will refund your money or send you a replacement – no questions asked.

Nothing in this Returns Policy affects your statutory rights or your rights under any contract you may have with us.

Distance Selling Regulations

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (DSRs) are designed to protect customers who are not physically present with the seller at the time of purchase. They cover purchases made via email and the Internet, together with telephone and mail order within the EU.

They only apply to transactions between businesses and consumers (individuals acting outside the course of their business) and do not include business-to-business contracts and auctions.

Under the Regulations, consumers have the right to:

  • details in writing about the supplier and the terms of the transaction,
  • written confirmation of their orders,
  • further information, including a notice of cancellation rights, the complaints procedure, after-sales services and guarantees,
  • delivery within 30 days unless otherwise agreed

Consumers have a cooling-off period of seven working days in which to cancel the contract, starting from when the goods are received, without having to give a reason.

If the Regulations apply, Customers may cancel goods purchased from Chilli Hats by sending a written notice of cancellation by post. The notice of cancellation must be delivered within seven working days of the date of delivery of the goods.

The Customer will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to Chilli Hats if they exercise this right of cancellation under the Regulations. We advise that the Customer obtains proof of postage from the Post Office as we reserve the right to refuse a refund if an item is lost whilst being returned. If the Customer does not return the goods to Chilli Hats, the Customer is under a duty to make the goods available for collection at the Customer’s expense from the address to which they were delivered.

The Customer is under a duty to retain possession of the goods whilst awaiting return to Chilli Hats and to take reasonable care of them during this period. The Customer will be liable for any loss of or damage to the goods if he or she fails to comply with this obligation.

Any credit or refund for goods returned under the Regulations will be for the cost of the goods less any postage and packaging charges incurred. In any event, a credit or refund will only apply if the goods are in an unused and “as new” condition. The refund will be issued against the original method used for payment.
